THANK YOU GREAT AUNT PRUDY!!!

A few days ago Dylan received a package from his Great Aunt Prudy! Inside was the most beautiful quilt hand made special for Dylan! We are so excited for him to get old enough to use it! It is soft flannel and will definitely keep Dylan warm while he is sleeping...or just hanging out with mom and dad!

Thank you Aunt Prudy! Mom was jealous...she was 25 before she got hers! I got mine at 10 days old! I love you...and can't wait to meet you! ~Dylan

Happy New Year!

We rang in the New Year with Mark and Molly...well almost! Mark and Molly planned on fondueing and invited the three of us to join them. They had a wonderful spread and three courses...cheese, meat and veggies, and my personal favorite dessert! Everything was great and we had a great time! We made it to 11pm, watched the ball drop in New York and celebrated the New Year on eastern time. By that time Dylan was ready...and so were mommy and daddy to head home and get some rest. We had a wonderful time...maybe next year we will make it to midnight central time!

The hosts...Aunt Molly and Uncle Mark!

The spread! This was the meat and veggie portion! It was all really good...and we only almost burnt the place down! Yes, the oil got a little too hot and we had to open a window and turn on a fan to prevent the smoke detectors from going off...

Daddy and Dylan...the little bit he was awake that night! As usual, he slept through most of the festivities!

Mommy and Dylan just hanging out! Aunt Molly picked out my outfit!

Dylan's First Christmas

With Dylan being born in December, he experienced his first Christmas at the ripe old age of .... 10 days old! Not only was it his first Christmas, but on Christmas Eve we gave him his first bath. His belly button had fallen off a few days before and we thought we would try a bath for not only his first mass...but his first Christmas mass.

As you can see...the first bath was not much of a success. Dylan is not a big fan of being undressed so as soon as we got him ready for the bath...he was crying before we even put him in the water. It went down hill from there... needless to say, I moved as fast as I could and got him out and dried off as quickly as possible!

After we got him wrapped up in his towel, he calmed down...as you can see from his cheeks, he was pretty worked up! We tried a bath again a few days later and it went much better...I think he decided it wasn't really that bad. Daddy even got video of the first bath, but all you can hear is Dylan screaming...poor little guy!

On Christmas Day we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Hommerding's to spend the day with the family. For a first Christmas...Dylan received some wonderful gifts. His Godparents purchased his first item from Tiffany! It took mommy until she was 29 to get a blue Tiffany box...but Dylan got his at 10 days old! Mark and Molly got him a beautiful silver rattle that we were instructed he better get to play with! Uncle Mark does not want it to sit on a shelf or in a box!

And of course, Grandpa passed a tradition we have in our family on to Dylan. He received a book with $100 in it...that goes directly into his savings account!

The rest of the day was spent just hanging out and enjoying a little family time. It was really nice to have such a perfect Christmas! We had a great day filled with lots of laughter and lots of fun! We can't wait for Christmas next year!!

Just a little nap with dad!

Grandpa and Aunt Molly playing Wii bowling...I am pretty sure Grandpa lost!

Dylan and Grandpa just hanging out! Dylan got to spend a lot of quality time with Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Katie, Aunt Molly and Uncle Mark on Christmas. We need to enjoy the snuggling this year...because next year I am sure he will be on the move and getting into everything!

Dylan loves hanging out in Grandpa's chair...he even swiped the remote...I am sure Grandpa will have him watching westerns in no time! I see a lot of Bonanza in Dylan's future!

Mommy's sweet little boy! Christmas was a perfect day...can't wait till next year!
