This weekend was also TCU's annual Easter Egg Hunt. It is put on for kids from 0-9 years old. Luckily they have the age groups broken up so Dylan only had to compete with children from 0-3! Again...he wasn't too interested...I am pretty sure it was more for mom and dad than anything!! But it was fun and Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Molly and Aunt Katie joined us for our fun afternoon.

Wonderful Family Weekend!
This weekend was action packed for the Mize family. We took Dylan on his first trip to the zoo! Dylan loves to be outside, and it was 85 degrees here on Saturday...what a perfect place to spend such a perfect day. Dylan wasn't too interested in the animals...he is a little young...maybe next time. Matt and I enjoyed it though and can't wait to take him again! Here are a few pictures from our trip.

It is amazing what you have to travel with when you have a baby...check out that stroller! One more bag and it may have tipped over!

8 Weeks Old Today!
Dylan is 8 weeks old today! He is growing like a weed. We went to the doctor today for his 2 month check up. Dylan weighs in at 12lbs 6oz and is 24.5 inches long! The doctor said he was doing great and growing just like he should. All in all it was a great check up...until the shots that is. He took them like a champ. Although when we got home, I fed him and he went down for a nap and slept for 3 hours.
Dylan recently found his fingers and prefers to suck on those versus a pacifier. I usually hear him sucking in the morning over the monitor just before he wakes him up.

Dylan loves to snuggle...that will put him to sleep faster than anything. Just give him a shoulder and 5 minutes to snuggle in and he is out.

He loves to be outside too! One of the benefits of living in Texas I guess...it is 70+ degrees in February.

Daisy is finally starting to get used to Dylan being around. She is starting to interact with him a lot more...she may regret that when he gets older. I am sure that he will torment her and play with her more than she would like!

And now for Mommy and Daddy's favorite new thing...the SMILES! He is now starting to smile at us...not just because he has gas. He is talking up a storm too! His personality is really starting to develop.

THANK YOU GREAT AUNT PRUDY!!!
A few days ago Dylan received a package from his Great Aunt Prudy! Inside was the most beautiful quilt hand made special for Dylan! We are so excited for him to get old enough to use it! It is soft flannel and will definitely keep Dylan warm while he is sleeping...or just hanging out with mom and dad!
Thank you Aunt Prudy! Mom was jealous...she was 25 before she got hers! I got mine at 10 days old! I love you...and can't wait to meet you! ~Dylan

Happy New Year!
We rang in the New Year with Mark and Molly...well almost! Mark and Molly planned on fondueing and invited the three of us to join them. They had a wonderful spread and three courses...cheese, meat and veggies, and my personal favorite dessert! Everything was great and we had a great time! We made it to 11pm, watched the ball drop in New York and celebrated the New Year on eastern time. By that time Dylan was ready...and so were mommy and daddy to head home and get some rest. We had a wonderful time...maybe next year we will make it to midnight central time!
The hosts...Aunt Molly and Uncle Mark!

Dylan's First Christmas
With Dylan being born in December, he experienced his first Christmas at the ripe old age of .... 10 days old! Not only was it his first Christmas, but on Christmas Eve we gave him his first bath. His belly button had fallen off a few days before and we thought we would try a bath for not only his first mass...but his first Christmas mass.

As you can see...the first bath was not much of a success. Dylan is not a big fan of being undressed so as soon as we got him ready for the bath...he was crying before we even put him in the water. It went down hill from there... needless to say, I moved as fast as I could and got him out and dried off as quickly as possible!

After we got him wrapped up in his towel, he calmed down...as you can see from his cheeks, he was pretty worked up! We tried a bath again a few days later and it went much better...I think he decided it wasn't really that bad. Daddy even got video of the first bath, but all you can hear is Dylan screaming...poor little guy!

On Christmas Day we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Hommerding's to spend the day with the family. For a first Christmas...Dylan received some wonderful gifts. His Godparents purchased his first item from Tiffany! It took mommy until she was 29 to get a blue Tiffany box...but Dylan got his at 10 days old! Mark and Molly got him a beautiful silver rattle that we were instructed he better get to play with! Uncle Mark does not want it to sit on a shelf or in a box!

And of course, Grandpa passed a tradition we have in our family on to Dylan. He received a book with $100 in it...that goes directly into his savings account!

The rest of the day was spent just hanging out and enjoying a little family time. It was really nice to have such a perfect Christmas! We had a great day filled with lots of laughter and lots of fun! We can't wait for Christmas next year!!
Just a little nap with dad!
Grandpa and Aunt Molly playing Wii bowling...I am pretty sure Grandpa lost!

Dylan is 2 weeks old today!
Dylan is 2 weeks old today and has been adjusting well to life at home. He is awake and happy most of the morning...from about 8am to noon or so and then sleeps most of the afternoon. We have him on a pretty good schedule at night...at least where Matt and I can get some sleep in between feedings. He is eating well, and growing like a weed. He had his 2 week check up today. He has grown an inch and a quarter...up to 22 and 3/4" and is up to 9lbs (still not hit mommy's birth weight...but it won't be long!). His personality is coming out day by day...he loves to be held and snuggled...as long as you are moving...sit down and he will let you know! Oddly enough...he hates having his diaper changed...apparently a modest boy! Here are a few pictures from his first few days at home!
